AMS Reinforced Sand Augers are specially designed for heavy-duty augering loose, unconsolidated soils conditions. They are built to withstand unusual, and considerable amounts of power.Three gussets are added to our popular AMS Mud Augers to prevent the top of the soil auger from twisting or bending. AMS Reinforced Sand Augers use a closed bit design with a restricted opening to prevent the loss of sampled material during retrieval. The cylinders of our reinforced sand augers are similar to those of our reinforced regular soil augers, but the inner edges of the reinforced sand auger bits touch at their mid point to make the reinforced sand auger a more reliable auger in loose, unconsolidated soil conditions.
