It is a great solution for printing government ID credentials, student ID cards, corporate ID cards, membership cards and more. The Fargo DTC4500e uses dye sublimation and resin thermal transfer printing to create vibrant colors, clear images and sharp text, creating a professional look on every card. Edge-to-edge printing covers the majority of the face of a card, leaving a small white border around the edge. A variety of ribbon types work well with the DTC4500e, including fluorescent ribbons, overlay ribbons and holographic laminate ribbons. This model of the DTC4500e features a magnetic stripe encoder, allowing compatible cards to be programed for use with card readers for granting access, making payments and more. The Fargo DTC4500e is an upgradable printer that can grow as your needs grow. It is known as a "modular" printer, meaning optional add-on modules can be purchased to increase the printer's capabilities. Modules include single- or dual-sided lamination, a smart card encoder, ethernet connectivity, a locking card hopper and more.
