Brand new 1/350 scale diecast airplane model of Goodyear Blimp Silver Metallic with Blue and Yellow Graphics "#1 Tires" die cast model by Postage Stamp.Detailed exterior.True-to-scale detail.Comes with a display stand.This model does not have any openings.Manufacturers original unopened packaging.Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts.Dimensions approximately L-5.5 W-1.5 inches.Diecast metal and plastic construction for durability and a heavy realistic feel.HISTORY ASPECTS:When the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was founded 1898 America was feeling the full effects of the Industrial Revolution. Capitalizing on that momentum and looking for unique ways to expand beyond tires Goodyear entered into the business of lighter-than-air balloons and aircraft. This eventually led to the creation of one of Americas most enduring corporate icons the Goodyear Blimp. The blimp was used mainly for advertising and capturing aerial views of live sporting events on Eaglevision. This allows the aircraft to display bright multi-colored animated words and images. While Goodyear was the airship business before the Pilgrim was built 1925 it is considered the first public relations blimp for the Company. 2015 marked the 90th year of continuous operation of the Goodyear airship program which is the longest history and certainly the most successful.
