Tsunodas aircraft was stationed at Buna Airfield in New Guinea in 1942 where it participated in intense aerial conflicts. The A6M3 an upgraded version of the iconic Zero boasted improved speed and maneuverability making it a formidable opponent in dogfights.During the battles over New Guinea Tsunoda achieved notable success securing victories that contributed to the early dominance of the Japanese forces in the region. The A6M3s agility and long range allowed it to outperform many of its adversaries. However as the war progressed the limitations of the Zero became apparent against more advanced Allied aircraft.This 1:72 scale model meticulously replicates the A6M3 Zero flown by Kazuo Tsunoda capturing the details of the aircraft and its markings from the Buna Airfield. Aviation enthusiasts and collectors can now own a piece of history commemorating the skill.
