Brand new plastic model kit of Messerschmitt Bf110E/E-2 TROP Fighter Aircraft with 2 Scheme Options (Level 2) 1/72 plastic model kit by Airfix.Brand new box.Vintage style packaging.Officially licensed product.Contains 108 detailed parts.Does NOT include display stand.Paint and cement required (not included).Manufacturers original unopened packaging.Parts molded in Light Gray unless otherwise indicated.Includes decals to design the plane in 2 different schemes.Dimensions approximately L-6.5 W-8.875 inches assembled.HISTORY ASPECTS:The Messerschmitt Bf 110E E-2 Trop a variant of the Bf 110 twin-engine heavy fighter was specifically adapted for operations in the challenging environments of North Africa. Introduced during World War II the Bf 110E E-2 Trop featured enhancements for tropical conditions including dust filters and improved cooling systems to cope with the intense heat and sandy conditions. These adaptations were crucial for maintaining the aircrafts operational effectiveness in the harsh desert climate.The Bf 110E E-2 Trop saw extensive action with the Luftwaffe in the North African campaign particularly during the early 1940s. It was deployed as a multi-role aircraft performing duties ranging from long-range escort missions to ground attack and reconnaissance. The aircrafts twin-engine design provided it with the range and payload capacity necessary for the vast distances and logistical challenges of the desert theater. Despite its initial design as a heavy fighter the Bf 110E E-2 Trop also found itself frequently engaged in dogfights with more maneuverable Allied fighters where it often relied on its speed and firepower to hold its own.One of the notable conflicts involving the Bf 110E E-2 Trop was the Battle of El Alamein in late 1942.
