Using the POWER TRACE ™ will greatly reduce man hours involved in locating breakers, fuses, and wires!How It Works The POWER TRACE ™ TRANSMITTER draws current from a 9-600 volt line in a very unique manner. The current drawn is a microprocessor controlled precision combination of separate frequencies that create a composite signal. This composite signal gives a very specialized "signature" to the signal. To be received, the signal must have this exact combination of frequencies. This feature greatly reduces the possibility of interference from electrical noise. This "signature" is present everywhere along the current path, including through breaker, fuses, and transformers. An LED on the TRANSMITTER shows that the circuit has power and the unit is functioning properly. The POWER TRACE ™ RECEIVER is tuned to pick up only the magnetic "signature" caused by the TRANSMITTER. The signal is indicated by both fixed signal strength and variable signal strength LEDs.Additional Features The POWER TRACE ™ can follow wires up to a 20 foot depth.
