The design allows the unit to be far lighter, yet still have better accuracy and definition. The transmitter uses a lower current output than competing units and a frequency that is more finely tuned. This combination is less likely to disturb lines that have equipment connected, and allows both transmitter and receiver to operate on standard "AA" size batteries. Microprocessors have been used in this product to increase simplicity of use. The product is easy to understand with a shorter learning curve than traditional locators How It Works The receiver display indicates signal strength, depth, low battery and passive mode settings. If the signal is lost, the auto gain may be reset at any time with the "signal reset" button. This will immediately allow you to re-locate the line. The passive mode setting will locate electrical, CATV and telephone lines without transmitter signal. If the receiver is left on when not in use, a warning will sound. the audible signal is used for quickly tracing lines. The LED and LCD displays are used to pinpoint exact line location and depth measurement.The transmitter induces a unique signal onto the line or conduit being traced. It can be connected to the line by clip leads, clamp or inductive coupling. Inductive coupling sends the signal to th eline so there is no physical connection to the conductor. The transmitter indicates low battery, power and live line connection. The product is rated for electrical use and be directly connected to a maximum fo 600VAC.
