However, although it has a higher voltage and current level, passive cables are still limited to a maximum length less than 15 feet.This Active Extension Cable draws power from the USB 3.0 bus and uses it to boost and regenerate the data signals, ensuring that full SuperSpeeds can be maintained to much longer lengths. By combining two of these extension cables with a 3 meter passive cables a total length of 13 meters (42.6 feet).This 5 meter (16.4 foot) cable is backwards compatible with all previous USB versions and any USB equipped device. It has a USB 3.0 A male connector on one end and a USB 3.0 A female port on the other end.
