This reduces waste and makes the handling easier whenever the application allows clarification under non-sterile conditions, like this is the case for the majority of sample preparation steps prior to HPLC or GC analysis. The low-binding PTFE membrane is the best option for leachable free filtration whenever highest chemical compatibility and pH values of 1 - 14 are needed. For hydrophilic solutions pre-rinsing with a solvent is necessary to make the hydrophobic membrane permeable for aqueous liquids. Due to the hydrophobic nature Minisart SRP can also be used for venting.
