To remove a broken screw, follow this procedure.Drill a hole into the broken screw using the recommended drill size from the table above.Insert the proper screw extractor into the hole and start a counterclockwise (left-hand) rotation using a tap wrench on the square on the shank.The extractor will grip the wall of the hole in the screw and back the screw out without damaging the threads.A penetrating oil can be helpful in removing rusty or corroded parts.
