This pellet was specifically designed for use in the Seneca Dragon Claw PCP airgun. It fits properly in the tight for .50 caliber .493/.496 bore diameter that this airgun has. In .500/.510 bore diameter .50 caliber airguns such as the AirForce Texan, it will be too loose. The .80 length of this pellet will fit properly in the loading port of the Seneca Dragon Claw. Instead of Lead, this pellet consists of an outer shell made of 6061-T6511 Aluminum. It has an inner screw-in core made of 1215 Steel, which adds weight to the pellet. These metals are, or are essentially, Lead-Free in that they contain less than 1% Lead by weight. This is the threshold used by the state of California for a pellet to be considered Non-Lead, which is in the same category as Lead-Free in that state and most regions. The precision CNC Lathe-machined .472/.474 diameter outer aluminum body does not contact the rifle bore. The interface between the pellet and the bore is accomplished by the use of two Buna-N rubber O-Rings (also Lead-Free) resting in precision-machined grooves. The O-Rings flex and conform to the bore and rifling, and impart spin to the pellet. To help decrease the chance of ricochets, the pointed nose of the pellet and the flat front of the steel core create an inner void (see photo). This allows the aluminum nose to deform upon impact with hard objects (however-you should still avoid shooting at hard surfaces!). PELLET WEIGHT: 145 grains.
