Es behandelt die Frage, ob die Entscheidungen eines Individuums mit unbekannten Prferenzen als Folge irgendwelcher Prferenzen gedeutet werden knnen, ob also gegebenes Verhalten rationalisierbar ist. Im Zentrum liegt die Erweiterung der Theorie der bekundeten Prferenzen vom bisher fast ausschlielich behandelten deterministischen Fall auf den wesentlich schwierigeren stochastischen Fall. Der Ansto zu diesem Ansatz kommt aus der psychologischen Literatur, in der der Sonderfall binrer stochastischer Entscheidungen intensiv behandelt wird. Prsentiert werden eine allgemeine Theorie der bekundeten Prferenzen und Lsungen des allgemeinen Rationalisierbarkeitsproblems.
