Built for the seasoned East Coast offshore trolling angler, the Daiwa Darkwater Conventional Rods offer tournament winning performance with species specific configurations. With years of regional knowledge contributed to their design, the Darkwater Series features lengths and actions conducive to a variety of trolling techniques. Models include a "workhorse" conventional series of heavier rods that will be favored as general purpose trolling rods for species like dolphin and smaller tuna. The kingfish and sailfish tournament models feature lighter actions more conducive to their respective species. The Tournament Kingfish models come with a revolutionary carbon fiber slick-butt for both weight reduction and strength. The DW70 Sailfish Prospect rod is a unique light-weight design specifically created for the tournament sailfish anglers with thin wall blank design and light weight guide train to reduce fatigue at the rail holding the rod waiting for the blind strike or drop-back. The slight, parabolic bend puts the stroke on gamefish of all sizes. State of the art, X-45 Bias technology creates a powerful blank yet prevents twisting when the rod loads up. All models feature different guide trains and handle configurations optimized for their designated species. All models feature a FUJI Backstop Reel Seat utilizes a locking nut that prevents premature reel loosening.
