Being a much denser metal than lead, a tungsten construction allows the weight to be a smaller profile than a lead weight of equal mass. This allows for faster sinking speeds, higher durability, and more effective transmission of vibrations which greatly enhances sensitivity and feel. The rounded shape of these weights provide more surface area contact with the bottom and surrounding structure, giving them superior sensitivity over cylindrical or teardrop shaped drop shot weights.
