In diesem Buch wird die Qualitt und Gebrauchstauglichkeit kommunikationstechnischer Systeme grundlegend behandelt. Dazu werden zunchst die notwendigen Begriffe eingefhrt, und es werden Grundlagen der Psychophysik und der Psychometrie geschaffen. Darauf aufbauend wird der Kreislauf einer menschenorientierten Systementwicklung vorgestellt. Die Messung und Vorhersage von Qualitt und Gebrauchstauglichkeit werden dann anhand praktischer Beispiele kommunikationstechnischer Systeme veranschaulicht. Hierbei werden insbesondere Systeme zur Informationsbertragung (Telefonie, VoIP, IP-TV), Sprachdialogsysteme, sowie multimodale Dialogsysteme behandelt. Abschlieend werden Modelle zur Schtzung von Qualitt und Gebrauchstauglichkeit in der Entwicklungsphase solcher Systeme vorgestellt. Das Buch richtet sich vorrangig an Leser mit einem technischen Hintergrund, beispielsweise in der Informatik, der Informationstechnik oder der Elektrotechnik. Darber hinaus sind aber gleichermaen auch Leser aus den Sprach- und Kommunikationswissenschaften, der Akustik, der Soziologie, dem Bereich Human Factors sowie aus anderen Wissensgebieten angesprochen. Es setzt keine besonderen Vorkenntnisse voraus.
