Die Problematik der Verwertung elektrischer und elektronischer Gerte nach dem Ende ihrer Nutzung wird immer dringlicher. Schon heute wird das Abfallaufkommen in diesem Bereich fr Deutschland auf ca. 1,5 Millionen Tonnen geschtzt. Ein Groteil entfllt dabei auf ausgemusterte Gerte privater Haushalte. Sowohl die Menge als auch das von diesen Gerten ausgehende Schadstoffpotential zeigen, da eine gesetzliche Regelung hier unbedingt erforderlich ist. Im Rahmen einer vom Umweltinstitut Offenbach durchgefhrten Fachtagung wurden die Mglichkeiten und Grenzen der Elektronikschrott-Verordnung diskutiert, wobei sowohl Vertreter des Verordnungsgebers als auch Verantwortliche der von den Regelungen betroffenen Industrien zu Wort kamen.
