Anhand von als einschlgig erachteten Beitrgen wird der seit Jahrzehnten whrende Diskurs ber Urbanitt inhaltsanalytisch untersucht. Instrument dazu ist ein komplexer Begriff von Mythos, der insbesondere das entsprechende Modell von Roland Barthes bercksichtigt, sowie das Schema der Funktion des Mythos im Rahmen symbolischer Politik. Die Ergebnisse dieser Untersuchung werden in die Diskussion ber Leitbilder der Stadtentwicklung eingeordnet und mit dem Pldoyer fr einen perspektivischen Orientierungsrahmen der Stadtentwicklungspolitik verdichtet.
