Gegenstand der Untersuchung ist die Gesetzgebung zur auerhumanen Gentechnik in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Ziel ist es, die Vorgeschichte einer gesetzlichen Regelung der Gentechnik in der Bundesrepublik, das Gentechnikgesetz aus dem Jahr 1990 und seine beiden Novellen aus den Jahren 1993 und 2002 im Spannungsverhltnis von Interessen, Sach- und Zeitdruck zu analysieren. Die Untersuchung will dabei den politischen Prozess der gesetzlichen Steuerung im Politikfeld auerhumane Gentechnik untersuchen, d.h. die Vorgnge der Willensbildung und Entscheidungsfindung mitsamt ihrer institutionellen und prozessualen Bedingungen. Thematisiert werden deshalb die Ursprnge und der Ablauf der Gesetzgebungsprozesse, die handelnden Akteure, ihre Interessen und handlungsleitenden Motive, die Einflussnahme von Parteien und Interessengruppen auf den Gesetzgebungsprozess und die politikinhaltliche Dimension der gesetzgeberischen Aktivitten.
