Das ambulante Organisationsnetzwerk verfgt jedoch ber eine spezifische Funktionslogik und Rollenverteilung sowie erhebliche Beharrungskrfte, die Strukturreformen bisher verhindert haben. Mit Hilfe einer historisch-soziologischen Analyse der Entwicklung von 1883 bis 2000 zeigt Thomas Tauchnitz, wie sich ein strukturell homogenes und interessenpolitisch weitgehend konsensuelles System ausgebildet hat, das eine Monopolstellung in der medizinischen Versorgung der Bevlkerung erlangen und eine hohe Wandlungsresistenz entwickeln konnte. Durch seine organisationssoziologische Studie wird nicht nur die Entwicklungsgeschichte einer "mchtigen" Struktur in der modernen Organisationsgesellschaft rekonstruierbar, sondern es lassen sich auch aktuelle Entwicklungen, Perspektiven und Handlungsblockaden im Gesundheitssektor erklren.
