Die Autorinnen nehmen zunchst eine Systematisierung alltagsbezogener Rezeptionsforschung der Cultural Studies vor und fhren den Domestizierungsansatz ein. Auf Basis ethnografisch orientierter Haushaltsstudien wird anschlieend aufgezeigt, auf welche Weise Internetnutzung, rumliche Arrangements und husliche Kommunikationsstrukturen miteinander interagieren. Abschlieend werden verschiedene Arrangements beschrieben und deren Einflsse auf die Herstellung von Gemeinschaft und Fragmentierung, auf geschlechtsgebundene Praktiken sowie auf Funktionen anderer Medien, insbesondere des Fernsehens, skizziert.
