Diese Arbeit widmet sich dem Butlerschen Konstruktivismus mit epistemologischer Ernsthaftigkeit und erarbeitet die These, dass Butler genau aus den Grnden missverstanden wird, die ihre Philosophie eigens angreift: Denknotwendigkeiten, die die tradierte Metaphysik und ihr dualistischer Begriffsapparat mitbringen. Materie ist kein neutraler oder prdiskursiver Begriff, sondern immer schon in einen vergeschlechtlichten Diskurs eingebettet und fungiert als konstitutiv Ausgeschlossenes. Die Kantische Epistemologie dient hier zum einen als Beispiel einer implizit misogynen Philosophie. Zum anderen wird Kant fruchtbar gemacht sowohl zum Verstndnis der Fehlinterpretationen Butlers als auch zum Verstndnis der grundstzlichen epistemologischen Problematik der Beziehung zwischen Erkenntnissubjekt und Realitt. Was bedeutet es bei Butler, dass sogar Materielles konstruiert ist, und dennoch real ohne dass dabei ein idealistischer Begriff von Realitt entwickelt wird?.
