Christoph Homuth legt die bisher umfassendste Evaluationsstudie zu den Auswirkungen der G8-Reform vor, um belastbare Aussagen ber die Ergebnisse einer der kontroversesten Bildungsreformen treffen zu knnen. Er zeigt, dass - anders als oft von den medial prsenten Kritikern befrchtet das G8 keine wirkliche Gefahr fr die Leistungsfhigkeit der deutschen Gymnasiastinnen und Gymnasiasten darstellt. Es zeigt sich im Gegenteil sogar ein Leistungsvorsprung des G8 gegenber dem G9. Dafr sind jedoch weniger die vernderten Lernbedingungen als vielmehr unterschiedliche Bildungsentscheidungen verantwortlich. Diese fhren dazu, dass heute vermehrt besonders leistungsfhige Schlerinnen und Schler auf das Gymnasium wechseln, whrend leistungsschwchere Schlerinnen und Schler das Gymnasium schneller wieder verlassen.
