Anhand einer Reihe von Modelluntersuchungen u.a. von Rapunzel, Jorinde und Joringel und Der Jude im Dorn wird aufgezeigt, dass die Mrchenerzhlungen der Brder Grimm entgegen ihrer traditionellen Einschtzung als Volksmrchen literarischen Ursprungs sind und selbst literarischen Charakter besitzen.
