Die medienethnographische Forschungsarbeit ermglicht einen Einblick in die Lebenswelt von Menschen ohne Lautsprache und deren Nutzung von Mitteln der Untersttzten Kommunikation, ins besonders von Sprachcomputern. Es wird gezeigt, wie Technik und Medien den Alltag mit einer krperlichen Behinderung bestimmen und wie Nutzer:innen ihre Hilfsmittel eigensinnig anwenden. Auf der Basis soziologischer Praxistheorien wird dargestellt, welche Bedeutung der Krper und die Sinne fr die Teilhabe an medientechnologisch strukturierten Praktiken haben und welche Rolle Zwischenleiblichkeit, Ko-Konstruktion und Ko-Operation fr den Vollzug von Kommunikationspraktiken spielen. Darber hinaus wird gezeigt, welche soziologischen Praxistheorien geeignet sind, die Thematik adquat zu erfassen und die soziale Konstruktion einer Behinderung unter den Bedingungen moderner Medientechnik zu verstehen. Die Arbeit ist somit ein theoretischer wie empirischer Beitrag zur Idee des doing disability.
