Besonders einschlgig kristallisiert sich der Zusammenhang von Fest und Zeitenwende in der Hymnik und Zeittheorie Friedrich Hlderlins. Der hufig konstatierte Bedeutungsverlust des Festes in der Moderne wird damit einer Revision unterzogen: Gerade die Auflsung seiner Funktion zyklischer Reproduktion bringt das Fest als theoretischen Gegenstand hervor und stellt einen modernen, futurischen Zeitlichkeitsbezug her.
