Dieses Open Access Buch widmet sich dem Problem der Mechanik des Zusammenstoes zweier makroskopischer Krper. Falls die Dynamik der Krper als Ganzes dies erlaubt, ohne in unberschaubare Komplexitt zu verfallen (in der Regel ist das nur fr das reine Normalstoproblem der Fall), werden allgemeine axialsymmetrische Stopartner betrachtet. Fr das allgemeine rumliche Stoproblem wird sich auf den Kontakt von Kugeln beschrnkt. Zunchst werden im Buch sehr ausfhrlich die kontaktmechanischen Grundlagen (Elastizitt, Plastizitt, Viskoelastizitt, Adhsion, Gradientenmedien) dargestellt und anschlieend auf das Stoproblem bertragen. Mit der Methode der Dimensionsreduktion, der ein eigenes Kapitel gewidmet ist, steht auerdem seit wenigen Jahren ein Werkzeug zu Verfgung, das die sehr effiziente analytische und numerische Behandlung von dynamischen Kontaktproblemen (wie z.B. Sten) ermglicht. Den Abschluss des Buch bilden Anwendungsflle aus verschiedenen Gebieten.
