The ebonized boxwood is jet black with no visible grain just like real ebony while the cream colored natural boxwood is the perfect wood for the white chess pieces. The king is tall and has a 1.625" base - an excellent size for the casual game at home! The pieces are triple weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads for a soft landing on the chess board. We include a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, and when it was made.Our Deluxe Chess Case has two drawers with individual compartments for storing all 32 chess pieces separately. The compartments are lined on the sides and bottom with a soft beige velour material to protect the pieces from getting scuffed up. The case measures 19" square and is 3" tall.
