Our Deluxe Old Club Staunton chess set is an ageless classic that for many years has been a favorite with players for its distinguished knight and traditional Staunton design. Often referred to as the Reykjavik, the Deluxe Old Club is well recognized and has been used on countless chess book covers and other chess art. Handcrafted by our highly skilled artisans, pieces are made from golden rosewood and boxwood. The golden rosewood pieces have a rich brown color with darker streaks running through the grain while while the boxwood has the perfect light beige-amber color. This is the perfect tournament size set with a tall king. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional balance and stability while thick green baize pads allow the pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board.
