The perked ears, eyes, mouth, and mane create a fierce looking countenance that gives this set its name. The pieces have an elegant profile that is carefully turned to perfection on every piece and the golden rosewood and boxwood are hand polished to a beautiful luster. This is a large chess set with a tall king and a base diameter of 1.75". Pieces are triple weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads for a soft feel on the chess board. We include a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the model is, the type of wood, the year it was made and where it came from.Our Walnut and Maple Deluxe Chess Board is made for us by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain, the manufacturer of the highest quality inlaid chess boards in the world.
