Our Fierce Knight is a blend of contemporary and traditional Staunton design featuring knights that are carved with realistic features. The perked ears, eyes, mouth, and mane create a fierce looking countenance that gives this set its name. The pieces have an elegant profile that is carefully turned to perfection on every piece and the golden rosewood and boxwood are hand polished to a beautiful luster. This is a large chess set with a tall king and a base diameter of 1.75". Pieces are triple weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads for a soft feel on the chess board. We include a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the model is, the type of wood, the year it was made and where it came from.Our Walnut and Maple Deluxe Chess Board is made for us by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain, the manufacturer of the highest quality inlaid chess boards in the world. Made from premium grade walnut and maple veneer, the precision of the craftsmen inlay work is remarkable. The squares are 2.125" and the overall size of the board is 21.5" and .5" thick.
