The Fierce Knight is a blend of contemporary and traditional Staunton design featuring knights carved with realistic features including perked ears, eyes, mouth, and mane create a fierce looking countenance that gives this set its name. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The ebonized pieces are lacquer polished to an obsidian black finish nearly indistinguishable from real ebony. The king is tall with a base diameter of 1.75", the perfect size for tournament chess games. Heavily weighted for exceptional stability, the pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.Our Mahogany and Maple Deluxe Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battlefield for your chess game.
