This unique chess set includes our Bohemian Series Chess Pieces in ebonized and natural boxwood matched with the Queen's Gambit Chess Board. Our Bohemian draws inspiration from a vintage German design of the 1950s, showcasing a distinctive knight with enchanting dragon-like features. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The pieces are handcrafted from boxwood with the ebonized pieces stained and polished to a lustrous black ebony-like finish. This is a large, tournament size set with a 4-inch-tall king. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion and that allow the pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board. The simplistic but elegant elements of this unique design from king to pawn allow the game itself to be the focus of attention while enhancing every move.This is the exact same chess board as seen in the final chess game of The Queen's Gambit Netflix series produced by Rechapados Ferrer for the series This attractive board features black stained poplar for the dark squares and natural ash burl for light squares. A decorative black, red, and orange weave delimiter separates the squares from the frame and the board is sealed in a matte finish. The squares are 2.125" and the chess board measures 21.5" overall and has felt pads on the bottom.
