This chess set package includes our British Staunton with ebonized and natural boxwood pieces matched with our Walnut Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Board. Our British Staunton is a traditional Staunton design modeled after an old British Chess Company chess set from many years ago. Our ebonized pieces are beautifully produced and nearly look like real ebony at less than half the price. The king is tall and has a base diameter of 1.5" - an ideal size for your games at home. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and green baize pads so they slide smoothly across the chess board. We include 2 extra queens for pawn promotionOur Walnut Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Board offers a luxurious back drop for these special chess pieces. Handcrafted from premium veneer, this chess board highlights the deep, rich hues of the walnut burl contrasted with the golden tones of the bird's-eye maple. The squares are surrounded with a wide black delimiter and a black border on the outside accentuates the bird's-eye maple frame. A semi-gloss polyurethane finish both protects and enhances the color of the wood. The squares are 2" with an overall footprint of 19.5".
