These stylish Staunton-like pieces have an elegant profile and are beautifully decorated with an intricate arabesque design that is perfectly created for each piece. This is a large chess set with a king that measures 4 inches tall. Cast from solid zinc using the age-old lost-wax casting process, you will love the way these heavy pieces feel when playing. The pieces are brass and nickel plated followed by several layers of lacquer to prevent tarnishing and keep them beautiful and shiny year after year. Whether you are investing in this fine chess set for yourself or buying it for a gift, you will be thoroughly pleased with the quality and elegance of this chess set.Handcrafted by the skilled craftsmen at Italfama in Italy, this luxurious faux leather chess board and tray is the perfect solution for both playing chess and then storing the pieces when you don't want them sitting out. The sides of the storage tray have an attractive stamped leather pattern adding to the realistic look of a hand-tooled leather case.
