This is the same chess set used by the legendary American Grandmaster Bobby Fischer when he beat reigning world champion and Grandmaster Boris Spassky in the 1972 World Chess Championship in Reykjavik, Iceland. These are ebonized and natural boxwood pieces with a traditional polished lacquer finish and are heavily weighted for superior balance and stability on the chess board.
