These wonderful chess set is inspired by the hit Netflix series, The Queen's Gambit. If you watched this series you will have seen Beth play a match with the same pieces though in a different type of wood. This model is nearly identical to our German Knight with a few minor tweaks no one would even notice. But we wanted to offer exact same set so we made the changes and named it after the oldest chess openings in the game, The Queen's Gambit. Like our German Knight, this set is simple yet attractive and is the ideal set for your everyday chess game. Unencumbered by fine detail, these chess pieces will stand up to the rigor of daily play for a lifetime. The golden rosewood has rich golden-brown colors and a beautiful grain while the cream colored natural boxwood is the perfect wood for the white chess pieces. This king is tall with a base diameter of 1.45", an ideal size for tournament play or the casual game at home. Pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion and allow pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board.
