Brand new diecast airplane model of Northrop Grumman E-2C Hawkeye Aircraft Tan "United States Navy" with Runway Section die cast model by Runway24.Brand new box.Detailed exterior.Comes in a blister pack.This model does not have any openings.Manufacturers original unopened packaging.Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts.Includes 7.25 inch long runway strip for display.Dimensions approximately L-2.5 Wingspan-3.625 inches.Comes with a flexible rubber runway section that can be used together with other Runway24 sets to create your own airport.HISTORY ASPECTS:The E-2C Hawkeye is a carrier-based airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft that has played a crucial role in naval aviation since its introduction. Developed by Northrop Grumman the Hawkeye has been a staple in the United States Navys fleet providing airborne surveillance command and control capabilities. The distinctive feature of the E-2C is its large rotating radar dome mounted above the fuselage earning it the nickname "Hummer" or "Super Fudd."The E-2C Hawkeye is equipped with the AN/APS-145 radar system housed in its rotodome. This radar allows the Hawkeye to detect and track airborne and surface targets over a vast area. The aircrafts role is to extend the radar coverage of a carrier battle group providing early warning of potential threats coordinating air traffic and directing interceptors if needed. Powered by twin turboprop engines the E-2C has the endurance to remain on station for extended periods making it a critical asset for naval operations.The E-2C Hawkeye has seen active service in various conflicts including the Gulf War where it played a vital role in managing the complex air operations over the theater. Its ability to coordinate and control airborne assets proved instrumental in maintaining air.
