Impurities in breathing air can adversely affect human health. The BK Series is designed to measure these contaminants in SCBA, SCUBA and other pressurized breathing air cylinders, as well as directly from the outlet of an air compressor or purifier. The BK easily measures five components within minutes: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oil mist, water vapor and oxygen. How it worksAfter connecting the BK assembly to the compressed breathing air source to be analyzed, the breathing air is passed through each detector tube at a specific pressure, flow rate and time interval. Each detector tube is made with high purity reagents that absorb and react with the target component. The reaction causes a colorimetric stain whose length is proportional to the component's concentration. The actual concentration is read directly from the measurement scale printed on the detector tube.
