Das Supply Chain Event Management (SCEM) ist ein neues und viel versprechendes Konzept zur Koordination und Steuerung der Informationsflsse in einer Supply Chain und es ist Bestandteil der Managementphilosophie Supply Chain Management (SCM). Sein Ziel ist es, Kommunikationsflsse zu optimieren sowie Warenbewegungen und Services verfolgen und auf bestimmte Ereignistypen frhzeitig und interaktiv reagieren zu knnen. Christian Hunewald stellt die sinnvolle Integration des SCEM in das SCM dar. Er arbeitet die Prinzipien und Funktionen des SCEM heraus und definiert seine Rolle innerhalb des SCM. Die besonderen Anforderungen, Potentiale und Nutzen des SCEM werden am Beispiel eines Automobilzulieferers sowie des mySAP Event Managers 4.0 aufgezeigt. Darber hinaus prsentiert der Autor eine Einfhrung in die Radio Frequency Identification Technologie (RFID) und demonstriert deren Nutzen fr SCEM.
