Es ist allerdings nicht immer berzeugend. Eine Nierenspende kann man mit dem Argument anstandslos verweigern. Es wirkt jedoch unanstndig, wenn ein Freundschaftsdienst ausgeschlagen werden soll. Vielleicht gibt es gar keine Supererogationen? Das Buch zeigt gegen den Antisupererogationismus der angelschsischen Supererogationsforschung, dass es rationale Grnde gibt, aus denen manche Handlungen trotz ihres moralischen Werts keine Pflicht sein sollten. Das Unanstndigkeitsproblem wird durch die Unterscheidung von Ultraerogationen und Anstandserogationen als zwei Arten von Supererogationen gelst.
