Das Buch geht der Frage nach, wie sich die (wahlbezogenen) politischen Kompetenzen von Schler*innen in der 10. Klasse an Berliner Schulen erklren lassen. Die empirische Untersuchung zeigt, dass die besuchte Schulform, der soziokonomische Hintergrund der Eltern, das demokratische Klassenklima und die Vereinsmitgliedschaft wichtige Prdiktoren fr die Dimensionen der politischen Kompetenzen sind. Bourdieus Ansatz des sozialen Raums ermglicht den politischen Habitus der Schler*innen, der mittels einer Clusteranalyse reprsentierbar gemacht worden ist, zu erklren. Das Buch endet mit der Evaluation der Juniorwahl, die als politische Bildungsmanahme an Schulen darauf abzielt, die Wahlbereitschaft der Schler*innen angesichts der rcklufigen Wahlbeteiligung von jungen Menschen signifikant zu erhhen.
