The pieces have an elegant profile and the knight is beautifully sculpted with fine detail. The obsidian black ebony and natural color of the boxwood chess pieces go perfect with the tiger ebony and maple chess board. This is a large set with a tall king and a base diameter of 1.875". The pieces are triple weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and have thick green baize pads for easily sliding from square to square and a soft feel when placing down. Our Tiger Ebony and Maple Deluxe Chess Board is made for us by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain, the world's most renowned chess board manufacturer. This chess board features striped ebony, also known as tiger ebony, which has irregular black and brown stripes similar to that of a tiger. This makes a spectacular back drop for the obsidian black and boxwood pieces. A triple inlay (white-black-white) pinstripe around the playing area along with an extra wide frame gives the chess board an elegant look.
