This chess set includes Italfama's Renaissance theme chess pieces matched with their Tuscan Marble and Wood Chess Case. The Renaissance is a very large and heavy chess set with a 5.5 inch tall king. The pieces are wonderfully sculpted with amazing detail depicting the royal characters of the Renaissance period including the king, queen, and bishop. The knight is a rearing horse in full barding, a castle tower the rook, and the foot soldier with shield the pawn. Pieces are made of cast zinc using the old-world lost wax casting process. Pieces are brass and nickel plated and then lacquered so that they never tarnish.This large and luxurious chess case from Italfama features a Tuscan marble chess board supported by a beautiful wood case with a drawer on each side for storing pieces when you want to put them away. The famous Tuscan marble is the finest marble found in the world. The brown marble has a blend of shades and unique patterns that add character and charm and looks gorgeous contrasted with white marble squares. Handcrafted to exacting standards by the skilled craftsmen at Italfama, this beautiful chess case is nothing less than a fine piece of furniture. This is a large and heavy chess case measuring 23.5 inches square and 5.5 inches tall. It has 2.5 inch squares that are large enough for most any chess set.
