The Deluxe Old Club is an ageless classic that for years has been a favorite with players for its distinguished knight and traditional Staunton design. Handcrafted from boxwood, the ebonized pieces are polished to an obsidian black finish nearly indistinguishable from real ebony. Often referred to as the Reykjavik, the Deluxe Old Club is well recognized having been used on countless chess book covers and other chess art. This is a medium size set with a tall king that is an ideal size for the casual game at home. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional balance and stability on the chess boards while thick green billiard cloth pads allow the pieces to slide smoothly from square to square.
