Our Deluxe Old Club is a classic that has been a favorite with chess players for decades. These popular pieces are often displayed on covers of chess books and other publications. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The ebonized pieces are lacquer polished to an obsidian black finish nearly indistinguishable from real ebony. The king is tall with a base diameter of 1.625", the perfect size for tournament chess games. Heavily weighted for exceptional stability, the pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.Our Mahogany and Maple Deluxe Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battlefield for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality mahogany and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A triple-layer delimiter accentuates the playing field and enhances the rich color of the mahogany. The squares are 2" and the footprint of the board is 19.5" square.
