This exquisite chess set includes our British Staunton with ebonized and natural boxwood pieces matched with our Mahogany and Maple Molded Chess Board and Classic Mahogany Chess Box. Our British Staunton draws inspiration from a vintage design originating from the old British Chess Company in the mid-1800s. Featuring a purely traditional Staunton design, the pieces are handcrafted one piece at a time just like they were over a hundred and twenty years ago. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The king is 4"-tall with base diameter of 1.6" making it ideal for tournament games. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.Our Mahogany and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battle field for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality mahogany and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A wide black delimiter accentuates the playing field and enhances the rich color of the mahogany while the black stained molded edge highlights the entire board. The squares are 2.125" and the footprint of the board is 21.5" square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sets on.Our Classic Mahogany Chess Box is wonderfully constructed and reminiscent of the old heirloom quality boxes from years ago. The box is covered in mahogany veneer while the interior is lined with a luxurious thick green baize just like we use for the pads on our chess pieces. The box is a loose-piece design for simple stacking of the pieces and has a divider in the center for neatly storing the black and white pieces separately.
