This exquisite chess set includes our British Staunton with golden rosewood and boxwood pieces matched with our Walnut and Maple Molded Chess Board and Classic Walnut Chess Box. Our British Staunton draws inspiration from a vintage design originating from the old British Chess Company in the mid-1800s. Featuring purely traditional Staunton features, the pieces are handcrafted one piece at a time just like they were over a hundred and twenty years ago. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The king is 4"-tall with base diameter of 1.625" making it the perfect set for tournament chess games. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.Our Walnut and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battle field for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality walnut and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A wide and colorful burl wood delimiter accentuates the playing field while the black stained molded edge highlights the entire board. The squares are 2.125" and the footprint of the board is 21.5" square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sets on.Our Classic Walnut Chess Box is wonderfully constructed and reminiscent of the old heirloom quality boxes from years ago. The box is covered in walnut veneer while the interior is lined with a luxurious thick green baize just like we use for the pads on our chess pieces. The box is a loose-piece design for simple stacking of the pieces and has a divider in the center for neatly storing the black and white pieces separately.
