Our Deluxe Old Club is a classic that has been a favorite with chess players for decades. These popular pieces are often displayed on covers of chess books and other publications. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The ebony and boxwood pieces are lacquer polished to a lustrous finish. The king is tall with a base diameter of 1.625", the perfect size for tournament chess games. Heavily weighted for exceptional stability, the pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.Our Deluxe Two Drawer Elm Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case seamlessly combines functionality with elegance, offering a chess board and storage for chess pieces all in one. Handcrafted from solid wood, its exterior boasts graceful curves adorned with a three-row beaded section around the top and a refined molded edge beneath. The chess board, featuring high-quality elm burl and bird's-eye maple veneer, is accented by a decorative black delimiter highlighting the playing area. The chess board has two-inch squares and the case an overall footprint of nineteen inches square. A drawer on each player's side completely pulls out to make it easy to put pieces in and take them back out.
