The king is tall with a base diameter of 1.625", the perfect size for tournament chess games. Heavily weighted for exceptional stability, the pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality black poplar and ash burl veneer sealed with a high gloss polyurethane finish giving the board a luxurious glass-like finish. A triple-layer delimiter defines the playing field, and a wide frame gives aesthetic balance to the board. The squares are 2" and the footprint of the board is 19.5" square.
