This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The pieces are handcrafted from golden rosewood and boxwood with the golden rosewood boasting a distinctive wood grain with rich golden-brown hues. This is a large, tournament size set with a 4-inch-tall king. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion and that allow the pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board. The simplistic but elegant elements of this unique design from king to pawn allow the game itself to be the focus of attention while enhancing every move.Our Walnut Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Board offers a luxurious back drop for these special chess pieces.
