This attractive handcrafted chess set includes our Parker Staunton with ebonized and natural boxwood pieces matched with our Deluxe Two-Drawer Black & Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case. The Parker has the look and character you expect in a traditional Staunton chess set. The knights are wonderfully carved with just the right level of detail for a chess set that will get a lot of use. The king is tall and has a base diameter of 1.4" - an ideal tournament size set. The pieces are heavily weighted and have thick green baize pads for a soft feel on the chess board. We include 2 spare queens for pawn promotion and a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, and when it was made. This beautiful, handcrafted chess set will please any chess player and enhance the pleasure of the game!Our Deluxe Two-Drawer Black & Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case is the ideal choice for combining a chess board with a way for storing pieces when you are not playing a game. This exterior of the case is made from solid poplar with an elegant, molded edge design that incorporates a graceful curve and a three-row beaded section at the top. The chess board is made from black stained poplar and bird's-eye maple veneer and has a decorative mahogany inlaid border to delineate the playing area.
